Essential Functions: Work alongsideproviders to document patient data into electronic health records systemduring patient visit Ensure accuracy of patient information entered intosystem Follow coding requirements during entry of patient informationRetrieve data as needed related to the patient visit With appropriatetraining, may also assist with any of the following: Prepare, stock, andclean exam room Room patients, compile patient medical data, and preparefor x-rays Assist with information gathering prior to and during patientvisit Assist in surgical x-ray procurement Application and removal ofcasts Prescriptions: Obtain provider approval and call/fax to pharmacyPrep for injections, change dressings, apply durable medical equipment,and remove sutures/staples under provider direction Act as a prescribingdelegate to enter medical orders (i.e. medications, laboratory services,imaging studies and other auxiliary services into the computerizedprovider order entry (CPOE) into patient electronic records under thedirect supervision of the provider Assist with medical supply inventoryand ordering Assist in clinical related paper work including disabilityforms, referrals, etc. Assist with returning patient telephone callsSchedule imaging studies and injections Any and all other duties asassigned Education and Experience Requirements: High School diploma/GEDor equivalent required Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy,and physiology required Knowledge of diagnostic procedures,pharmacology, and treatment assessments preferred EssentialRequirements: Ability to: Comply with company policies, procedures,practices and business ethics guidelines.
