Rochester Community Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a Central Supply Clerk/Medical Records.
Duties Include:
Monitor cost, use, inventory volume, financial status of facility and the needs of residents and staff.
Maintains the storeroom in an orderly, clean, and logical manner. Receives good and outs away in appropriate location. Posts goods received and disabused on perpetual general and IV inventory cards. Update pricing per formula decided by Administrator.
Checks invoicing vs. goods received vs. contract pricing. Notifies business office for price changes and/or new product, assign new numbers and notify business office.
Makes copies of all invoices. Posts invoices as received and maintains daily posting of goods distributed. Inputs monthly financial journal of storeroom requisitions on computer and submits copy to Administrator. Keeps monthly journal of monies spent.
Order supplies when needed to maintain normal requirements. Order non stock supplies as requested by department managers with administrative approval.
Submits bids on purchasing contract. Negotiates with vendors for best pricing on non-contract items. Keeps track on back orders and out of stock orders. Meets with sales representative and locates new vendors with necessary.
Distributes needed supplies to appropriate departments and removes expired goods. Unload and checks shipments.
Keeps xerox machines in order and calls repairman when necessary. Prepares end of the month tally usage figures for Administrator and xerox company.
Complete departmental budget and works with other departments on supply budget.
Assist in organizing, planning and directing the medical records department in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Batch resident information into the computer and retrieve resident demographic information as appropriate or as instructed
Files information such a nurses' notes, resident assessments, progress notes, laboratory reports, x-ray results, corresponence, etc. into residents' charts
Assist in developing procedures to ensure resident records are properly completed, assembled, coded, signed, indexed, etc., before filing.
Abstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, etc. in accordance with current Privacy Rules.
Maintain various registries as directed including register for admission and discharge of residents.
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
Previous experience in purchasing desired.
Must possess accurate math skills.
Must be able to physically transfer, lift boxes and cartons with a weight of 25 – 50 lbs.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
