  Position Summary: Performs chemical, histochemical, or morphological analysis on specimens using laboratory instrumentation and microscopes using TH Lab approved policies and procedures. Ensures quality of results and determines validity of reportable results. Acts as a resource person for physicians in laboratory testing.

  Qualifications

  Education Associate in Medical Lab Technology or certification by a nationally recognized agency as an MLT. If not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within one year

  -OR-

  Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or other Science, plus a minimum of 12 months in an accredited MT program required.

  Experience: One year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

  License/certification: Certification as an MLT, MT, MLS or CLS by a nationally recognized agency (ASCP, AMT, AAB or HEW/CLT). If not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within one year

  Physical Requirements : Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
