JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview Provides support with the daily activities ofa medical office by performing the following duties and other duties asassigned. May be required to work overtime during peak periods.Responsibilities Rooms patients, collects assessment data and preparespatient according to specific need. Assists in examination, treatmentand other clinic procedures. Assists with laboratory procedures,screening tests and QI projects. Answers telephone and either respondsto inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates atriage slip for response by medical personnel. Schedules appointmentsand enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler.Conducts reminder calls to all patients. Greet and directs patients,salespeople, and visitors. Registers patients by verifying thatpatient\'s record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changesin computer system and on patient\'s chart. Coordinates referrals forpatients through insurance and other physician offices. Collects paymentfrom patients and issues receipt. Prepares and maintains patient charts.Maintains and orders supplies. Education and Experience Clinic MedicalAssistant Tech EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Medical Assistant trained on thejob for 5 years or completed such as training as Military Medic.CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Approved CPR or BLS certification requiredwithin 90 days. Medical Assistant 1 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Graduate of amedical assistant program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of HealthEducation Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of AlliedHealth Education Programs (CAAHEP), or graduate of a medical assistantprogram in a postsecondary school or college that has institutionalaccreditation by a regional accrediting commission or by a nationalaccrediting organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education,or other programs that may qualify. Experience in clinic settingpreferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Approved CPR or BLS certificationrequired within 90 days.
