　　Job Overview

　　The Senior Medial Assistant (MA) provides clinical support to patients andassists care providers with clinical and administrative support.Children's Hospital Colorado, KidStreet, is a unique therapeutic childdevelopmental center for medically complex children aged 6 weeks to 3 yearsold. Children receive educational, therapeutic & medical services while toengaging in developmentally appropriate activities and interacting with othersimilarly aged children. Staff works together on an inter- professional teamof therapists (OT, PT, SLP and Learning), nurses, medicalassistants and childcare attendants. At KidStreet, our role is to preparethese children to successfully transition to a more conventional home,childcare, or preschool environment.

　　EDUCATION - High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from anaccredited/certified Medical Assistant program.EXPERIENCE - One year in a direct health care role.CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers / CPR and certificationas a Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, NationalCertified Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Conductsquality checks.Verifies patient information by interviewing p tient; reviewing and/orrecording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visitor treatment. Reports areas of concern to next care provider.Supports patient care delivery by assisting health care providers duringexaminations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic testing;disposing of contaminated supplies; cleaning or preparing for sterilizationof medical instruments; administering medications per policy andprocedures; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies and other duties withinscoAnticipates and leads in balancing workloads and MA assignments andmaintaining patient/clinic flow by coordinating with providers and clinicteam.Provides phlebotomy and advanced specimen processing (i.e., centrifuge,Meditech) when indicated.
