FTE: 1.000000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: A Medical Assistant is ahealthcare professional and an essential member of the patient-centeredhealthcare team. This individual is responsible for pre-visit planning,standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, dischargeinstructions and other duties as assigned. The medical assistant isinstrumental in helping the patient feel at ease while collaboratingwith the provider throughout the patient\'s visit. The medical assistantmay be required to cross train and float as needed to maintain optimalclinic operations. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Oneto two years of clinical experience is preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:High school diploma or equivalent required. In addition, individualsmust meet one (1) of the following combinations of education andexperience: A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited MedicalAssistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate). B.) A graduate ofa non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, orCertificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training. In addition toeducation, one (1) year of formal on the job Medical Assistantexperience preferred. C.) Currently possess and are in good standingwith at least one of the following credentials: a.) Certified MedicalAssistant (CMA) b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) c.) AssessmentBased Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE) d.) CCMA Certified ClinicalMedical Assistant. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association(AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHAapproved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certificationthrough the AAMA and/or an equal certification board or certification ispreferred.
