Direct hire opportunity in the Pacific, MO area for a Mechanical Process Engineer. This person will be responsible for:
Process Improvement / Diagnostics of Mechanical Issues / Troubleshooting / Project Tracking / Capital Projects
Must be hands on. 70% floor / 30% desk

Mechanical Process Engineer
Under the guidance of the Plant Manager this position develops, maintains, and performs inspections for the PSM and RMP program and other maintenance programs, works on capital expense projects, and other engineering projects, with a focused effort to improve operational effectiveness using Lean principles. This role will partner with local plant management to build a continuous improvement culture. Success in this position requires the development of collaborative relationships and delivery of measurable results through Lean projects. The engineer will spend much of their time on the manufacturing floor working with the hourly workforce as well as the management team.
Key Responsibility:
Manages, develops, and maintains programs. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Support production by identifying and eliminating process limitations and bottlenecks.
Conduct time studies and line balancing projects to determine best practices and define standard work.
Lead Kaizen events in areas of 5S, TPM, Standard Work, Set-up Reduction/SMED, etc.
Drive continuous improvement and problem solving in the manufacturing environment by reducing/eliminating waste.
Utilize continuous improvement solutions that improve OEE.
Participates and champion LEAN manufacturing process activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 years of experience, or relevant experience in Mechanical Process.
Working knowledge of process equipment including but not limited to rotating equipment, heat transfer, conveyors, storage tanks and vessels.
Must have general knowledge of project management, reliability engineering and root cause analysis. Demonstrated work experience in project management including conceptual development, estimating and project execution.
Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated experience in the industry where related technical skills were applied.
Must be a hands-on plant problem solver.
