DescriptionJob SummaryThe Designer - Mechanical/Piping is responsible for the design of the process and mechanical piping systems, complying with process piping standards and acceptable industry practices. Projects will entail piping design and equipment layouts for industrial manufacturing processes. Incumbents will be assigned to custom jobs involving, but not limited to, field survey, design sketches, engineering support, layout, and final drawings, and checking of all drawings assigned to them to assure that the drawings are accurate and error-free.This position can be filled in Tulsa, OK; Pittsburgh, PA; Houston, TX; or Columbus, OH.Essential FunctionsActively supports the Company's commitment to safety and its "Core Values."Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."Assists the Project Design lead in determining how to best to meet job requirements.Assists Drafters with questions/issues during performance of project work.Performs basic and complex layouts.Produces new drawings as well as minor drawing checks for accuracy and completeness.Pick-up red marks from check prints and correct drawings as required.Performs detailed dimensional and bill of material check of all drawings.Checks entire job for interferences and constructability.Performs additional responsibilities as directed.QualificationsTechnical degree or Certification in drafting or piping design preferred.3+ years of related 3D model experience in piping design and plant layout preferred.Advanced AutoCAD and/or AVEVA and/or CADWorx knowledge preferred.Strong understanding of various drafting disciplines such as piping, mechanical, and structural.General understanding of fabrication, purchasing, and field construction.Ability to understand and use general math and geometry.General knowledge and understanding of ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, NFPA, and various codes and standards required for different types of work.Occasional overtime is possible in this position.In addition, full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible employees and dependents, disability benefits, life and AD&D insurance, an employee assistance program (EAP), a 401(k) plan with company match, an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), a robust wellness program and adoption assistance.
