Mechanical Lab TechnicianThe work will include interfacing with engineering and IPT team members.Typical duties for Lab Technician would include but not be limited to: 

　　Perform mechanical test on polymer and composites using Instron test machine while following or developing test procedures with limited supervision       

　　Collecting, managing, organizing, and storing all test specimens 

　　Ability to decipher and analyze test results within project guidelines and specs 

　　Formulate white papers or presentations to present results to engineering and management  

　　Maintain lab safety and cleanliness 

　　Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment 

　　Perform Titration test of chemicals using auto and manual titration processes 

　　Maintain calibration log of all lab equipment

　　ob Requirements:

　　·        

　　Two-year technical degree + experience or

　　2 or more years of mechanical lab experience.

　　·        

　　Experience with composite and polymer materials preferred, but not necessary.

　　·        

　　Good oral and written communication skills

　　·        

　　Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

　　·        

　　Familiar and able to read engineering drawings & specifications

　　·        

　　Due to the nature of our work, United States Citizenship, is required.

　　·        

　　Must be able to obtain and hold DOD security clearance.

　　·        

　　Capable to set up and maintain Instron test machine and fixtures 

　　Desired Skills and Experience:

　　·        

　　2+ years of experience in the field of composites testing and/or inspection preferred.

　　·        

　　Being able to conduct or interact in meetings to relay test results to internal staff or customer

　　·        

　　Critical thinker & decision maker

　　·        

　　Experience operating in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management System

　　·        

　　Experience in working with vendors and suppliers

　　·        

　　Hands-on composite fabrication experience, or composite fabrication support

　　·        

　　Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T, technical requirements and specifications and material requirements
