Our client in Cullman, AL is seeking a talented Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join their team to support a large project! Due to the project ramp, this position is slated for a 15 week contract. After evaluations at the end of the initial 15 week period, the contract may be extended due to project needs and exceptional performance. Hiring ASAP - can go to work quickly!

　　Description:

　　Interacts with the development, programmer, and manufacturing engineer to develop CAD models and engineering drawings to support the production of prototypes, final design, manufacturing, and quality specifications.

　　Responsible for the creation of 3D computer aided design (CAD) software models and detailed drawings for development of products.

　　Assists engineers with hands-on troubleshooting efforts from production, prototypes, and processes.

　　Assists engineers with testing, process development/ process modifications and engineering documentation.

　　Develops layouts, engineering drawings, detailed drawings and assembly drawings.

　　Takes project from concept to production release.

　　Performs maintenance of CAD files in response to engineering changes.

　　Interfaces with other engineers to verify that data pertaining to product specification is documented accurately.

　　Verifies that the appropriate linkages are established in the Product Data Management system when creating/modifying models and drawings.

　　Prepares bill of materials for product implementation into production.

　　Skills and Qualifications:

　　Associates Degree in Design/Drafting with 5+ years of work experience OR Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of work experience

　　SolidWorks design

　　Experience designing sheet metal components
