Primary Function:

Responsible, as per training administered, work related to equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, corrective troubleshooting on machinery and associated electrical/ electronic devices, equipment inspection and installation, equipment system performance improvement. Performs all work in accordance to company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP'S, safety standards, SOP's and housekeeping standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Responsible for mechanical equipment repair and troubleshooting, process improvements, equipment changeovers, fabrication of machine parts on packaging machinery, as per training administered.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate competency on all requirements for Packaging Mechanic - Level 1 and 2.Performs all work in accordance to company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP'S, safety standards, SOP'sDemonstrate competency in electrical safety.Performs minor machine shop work.Demonstrates mechanical-troubleshooting abilities, identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic problem solving methods.Describe and understand the components on the packaging equipment.Read and understand equipment and technical manuals.Changeover designated lines Packaging areas.Performs equipment repairs and upgrades.Perform preventive maintenance tasks on designated equipment.Provide guidance, assistance and team leadership, and training to Packaging Mechanic Levels 1 and 2 in the performance of their duties.Maintains records and documentation as required.Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a clean and safe order.Exhibits flexibility acquired through training to be utilized at any position as needed in the company, or elsewhere in the facility, or as a trainer.Perform and Document all equipment Challenges that are list per MPI

Materials:

Machine parts and assemblies, pipe and fittings, lubricant, solutions, changeover parts as per training administered.

Tools and Equipment:

Various hand and power tools as per training administered.

Reports to:

Mechanical Supervision, Production Supervision

Supervises:

Work independently with a minimum amount of supervision or direction or as part of a team or crew. Directs other personal as necessary in the course of their duties.

Education:

All Candidates: HS Diploma or GED Equivalent

Internal Candidate: All OJT from Level 1 and Level 2 mechanic position completed and in good standing.

External Candidate: Required Industrial maintenance certificate or documentation of internal training at a previous employer or accredited technical institute

Experience or Equivalent:

Internal Candidate: a minimum of 4-6 years in the current technical role as a Level 2 mechanic or equivalent demonstrated proficiency/knowledge and has advanced understanding of Packaging or mechanical maintenance, changeovers and equipment troubleshooting.

External Candidate: a minimum of 8-10 years in a technical role with demonstrated understanding of packaging or mechanical maintenance, Changeovers and equipment troubleshooting.
