About the Team: Our Material Planning Team is a dedicated group with the end goal of delivering on time to customers while also keeping our inventory low. We work closely with our suppliers, internal customer service group and many other departments to achieve our goals. Accurate Forecasting and consistent communication with our suppliers are top priorities as we always strive to be proactive in avoiding potential delays that could affects our end users. What you can look forward to as a Material Planner:
Review SAP-generated purchase requisitions and planned orders to ensure they reflect accurate planning parameters, SAP forecasts, customer purchase orders, and customer forecasts.
Work with suppliers to reduce lead times and minimum order quantities.
Expedite part shortages as required with vendors, brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and receiving dock personnel.
Help identify, research, and correct causes of inventory discrepancies and work to reduce excess inventory.
Participate in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; lead additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
Perform all duties in a safe manner
Your profile as a Material Planner:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field, extensive experience in a related field may be substituted for the education requirement
4+ years’ experience in production planning and/or buyer in a distribution and/or manufacturing environment
6 Sigma Lean experience; certification preferred
Experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP, as well as Microsoft Excel experience
A technical background and experience in understanding the business from order to cash
Knowledge of business operations, forecasting, planning, logistics, and operations management
Analytical and problem-solving skills
