JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position: Material Handler Location: DeForest Shift:Must be available to work either days or nights 6am - 6pm or 6pm - 6am;4/4 rotating shift Performs tasks and provides services to support theplant\'s overall business plans and objectives as directed. Day to dayresponsibilities include: Complies with established job safetypractices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporatedirectives for the safe performance of the work assignment. Supports andfollows the guidelines of the food safety system. Operates forkliftduring routine performance of duties. Unloads, receives, inspects, andstages raw materials, scraps dunnage, packaging materials, chemicals,and other supplies. Removes finished products from the production areasensuring proper identification, banding, and labeling to meet customerspecifications. Responsible for replenishing supplies in assigned areas.Reviews warehouse production control schedule to determine duties forshipping and receiving. Ensures finished goods are properly documentedfor shipment. Stages and loads finished goods and materials inaccordance with warehouse production control schedule. Coordinates allprocessed scrap material. Bands, weights, and stores materials. Loadstrucks as necessary. Conducts inspection of and identifies routinepreventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Conducts pre-shiftsafety inspection. Stages unfinished goods (plate) in accordance withset procedure. Conducts inspection of materials used for packaging andinspects trailers and air bags. Prepares documentation for incoming andoutgoing materials and finished goods. Maintains accurate files,records, and logs of incoming and outgoing materials. May coordinate andtrain material handlers in their duties. May develop and maintainefficient procedures for receiving incoming materials, stock storagelocation plan, stock storage allocation, first-in first-out (FIFO)material usage and product usage. Keeps current accounting of materialsand finished goods. May coordinate with production planning manager todetermine schedule information for warehouse operations. Accesses,inputs, and retrieves information from the computer. May coordinate withincoming and outgoing freight handlers to ensure efficient movement ofmaterials and finished products through the plant.
