The Market Researcher – Market Insights is responsible for authoring a wide range of market research and empowering the HSB organization with actionable insights that help drive decision making.
This role will be primarily responsible for conducting research in the areas of market sizing, product analysis, competitive intelligence, and innovation research support, as well as cross-team liasing in support of broader team initiatives. The individual will be tasked with interpreting data to ultimately draw out the most actionable and relevant findings, using their intuition and experience to identify objective conclusions and business patterns to share with the organization.
Competitive intelligence assessment and monitoring is central to this role, including identifying and analyzing competitive intelligence data sources in order to compile takeaways and findings.
In addition, the role will support our current and future trends framework, assisting in the authorship of articles and reports that will be distributed internally within the organization to fuel product and service innovation.
Under low to moderate supervision and in partnership with other team members, this individual contributor may also be involved in supporting project scoping, data gathering, analysis, report design and socialization of research findings.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors’ degree in business, marketing, economics or related field is required
Masters’ degree or equivalent in business, market research, statistics, economics or related field a plus
5+ years’ experience in conducting qualitative/quantitative research
Experience working in or with the insurance industry preferred
Experience with both primary and secondary research approaches strongly preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Deep experience in collaborating and consulting internal teams, building and maintaining effective relationships
Skilled in planning analytical decision making, communication and project management
Strong data analysis and/or statistical experience required
Skilled in creating visually engaging, digestible reports
Intermediate to strong storytelling skills to bring audiences closer to the dynamics of the external marketplace
Experience in statistical or data analysis software preferred
Industry and business trend analysis experience preferred
Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other MS office products required
