Description

　　Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Marine Outside Machinists for projects located in and around Norfolk, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of $27.31/hour based on experience & skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers of 60+ miles from the job site . 　　Job Scope:

　　Installation of hull inserts

　　Operate a lathe

　　Valve, overhaul steam, & wog AC refrigeration repair

　　Installation of lift check valve

　　Installation of main engine propulsion, plant machinery, & equipment

　　Installation of aircraft elevator

　　Test main engine

　　Installation of anchor windlass, mast, & antenna

　　Work on lube oil flushing

　　Installation of arresting gear, noise equipment

　　Utilize precision instruments; ruler/micrometer

　　Installation of ballast tanks, re-fueler, drilling/tapping

　　Operate boring bar

　　Installation of valve & pump packing

　　Other tasks as assigned

　　Requirements:

　　4+ Years of Commercial/Naval Experience as a First Class Machinist

　　OSHA 10

　　Ability to read/interpret complex drawings, blueprints, diagrams, sketches

　　Steam Plant Cleanliness Knowledge

　　Knowledge of shipbuilding terms & nomenclature

　　Familiarity with fasteners

　　Safety Awareness
