JOB PURPOSE:
This is a Team Lead position responsible for managing and guiding the team to support in deploying and maintenance of Caterpillar Price List / Product Outline Compatibility / Variant Configuration (VC) / Teamcenter product Configurator system to various manufacturing facilities by providing coordination of cross functional teams to accomplish the needs of the order to delivery support. Need to develop and maintain standard work execution across machine models for price list / product outline as transition is made from legacy to SAP / Teamcenter environment.
This group also maintains the configuration data for Caterpillar work tools. The product configuration team enables the dealers to configure, quote and order Caterpillar Machines and work tools to worldwide Caterpillar factories.
JOB DUTIES:
To determine and maintain right sales model product compatibility in the Legacy / SAP / Teamcenter based system to the worldwide sales of the Machines.
Assignments include Deployment of SAP VC / Teamcenter Product configurator in Manufacturing facilities, Maintaining of machine configuration in Legacy / SAP VC / Teamcenter. Coordinate with NPI to launch the New products. Update the current machines with appropriate engineering changes, resource management, systems planning, process standards etc. and requires the coordination of all disciplines this person is responsible for being an integral part of developing and delivering an effective Order Configuration management solution for our business which leverages SAP/ Teamcenter Product configurator and industry standard best practices.
Provide configuration and analysis support for Order Configuration management, fully understanding the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP functional solution, including classes, characteristics, tables, dependencies, profiles, and super BOMs/Routings, complex configurable materials with full cross functional integration. Ability to work between various business partners including product group, Engineering, Supply chain, NPI and pricing team.
Ability to effectively communicate with business customers and maintain relationships across commercial product groups, assist team members and customers with problem solving related to order to delivery support and/or participate (through expertise) on problems outside specific assignment to ensure business operations are not interrupted or delayed.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a technical or university degree in an appropriate manufacturing or engineering related field, previous supervisory experience and at least Six to Nine years Manufacturing experience. Requires a thorough knowledge of the Product, Process manufacturing, operations, execution, analytical ability as well as best communication skills. Highly motivated, self-directed, effectively lead efforts, including delivery of projects, work in a highly dynamic diversified team with fast paced environment.
