Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manually controlled machines in skilled precision and bench work in the fabrication and alteration of machine parts, tools and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, chop saw, band saw, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment
Fabricates/shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of various metals, plastics and synthetic materials
Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines
Reads and interprets blueprints
Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous manual machining experience
ProtoTRAK experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents (i.e. safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals), write routine reports and correspondence, and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts and have knowledge of the metric system or the ability to learn the metric system.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be authorized to work in the US
