Responsibilities
Strategic Software Asset Management
Build and execute an effective long term strategy to procure, manage and optimize the software portfolio with full compliance while minimizing risk
Manage an accurate inventory of all software assets across Philips covering on-prem third party software, SaaS and home grown applications via an effective combination of tools, processes and teamwork
Oversight and optimization of software lifecycle including orders, renewals, deployments, upgrades, validation and standardization utilizing IAITAM and BSA standards and guidelines
Monitor and manage user access rights to SAM platforms to ensure data integrity and ensure compliance with regulatory and Philips policies
Processes and reporting
Own processes such as license population into Flexera, communicate renewal based on license expiration dates or commercial opportunities and track savings history
Design, implement and evolve processes while meeting stakeholder expectations. Ensure that established standards and procedures are being complied with
Improve process and reporting maturity, while building/ tracking KPIs appropriate for SAM to achieve its vision and strategies
Deliver accurate and timely software compliance reports across the portfolio
Work closely with the Procurement teams, review contracts, help interpret license terms related to software and minimize the value at risk for Philips
Publish / Update SAM processes transparently to the user community via Sharepoint community sites, quality wiki pages, and other communication avenues
Manage escalations as the first point of contact for other functions
Spend optimization
Work with stakeholders to optimize the vendor base, with special focus on tail spend
Seek out more efficient ways to consume, reuse and consolidate software licenses
Technology support
Develop a deep, hands-on understanding of the Flexera platform in team. Automate and/or extend processes and data collection to make the SAM more effective
Build awareness of ServiceNow, iServer and other relevant platforms in order to align relevant data sources and ensure data integrity
Be abreast of industry trends and best practices related to SAM
Advise IT Leadership Team (ITLT)
Build a deep understanding of licensing models and advise ITLT and Procurement teams on the right strategic choices, especially on the Top 20 software vendors to Philips such as Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe and SAPPeople Management and Collaboration
Manage a team of 6-8 Software Asset Experts and assign accountabilities for portfolio for software assets
Motivate and build a high performance team that can conceptualise and execute on ‘big ticket’ ideas. Build capability in technology, processes and soft skills to future proof the organization
Create awareness about SAM processes and best practices across Philips via meetings, mailers, webinars and Yammer groups
Work collaboratively with IT Business Partners, Legal, Finance, Internal Audit and Procurement on areas and action items related to SAM
Technical Knowledge and Skills required
Hands-on understanding of Flexera software asset management platform
Certifications related to Software Asset Management will be a distinct advantage
Knowledge of ServiceNow and iServer technology platforms is desirable
Basic IT landscape awareness covering software, hardware, infrastructure, hardware & software virtualization, networking, user access, multiplexing, RBAC and security required
Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and presentation skills are expected
Highly driven, energetic, flexible, resourceful & ability to multitask
Adherence to timelines, without sacrificing quality of output
Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within organization, co-ordinate across geographies and work with stakeholders at Executive and Director levels
Academics /Work Experience
12+ years of related experience with at least 7 years in software asset management and a deep understanding of licensing models and trends, processes and tools in this domain
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
Experience in global MNCs with geographically dispersed teams
Track record of successful engagement, communications and organizational change management achieving identified strategic business objectives and benefits
