Position Summary:
The Manager, Global R&D for Garden of Life and Vital Proteins, NHSc, is primarily responsible for managing R&D aspects of new product launches (pre-innovation and approved-to-launch innovation) and existing products (renovation). Will typically work in a cross functional environment (i.e. Brand, Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, CMO team, etc.). The Manager is also responsible for supporting ongoing development of internal processes and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Works with Brand to establish the Product Brief and supports the creation of, as well as the execution of the R&D Development Plan for new product launches, in accordance with product timeline, which is established by the Project Manager. The Project Brief and R&D Development Plan not only requires the Manager to understand the overall scope of the project, but also specifics aspects of the Brief and Plan, which includes: formula/recipe, cost of goods (COGS), margin analysis, competitor analysis, ingredients, substantiation, Supplement Facts/Nutritional Facts, quality aspects such as heavy metals, lower and upper limits of vitamins and minerals, overage, testing, stability protocol, as well as Finished Good Specifications (FGS).
• Works with Procurement or other departments, as well as external partners in a cross-functional environment to support other projects, e.g. renovation projects
• Participates in and supports general R&D activities and meetings, which may require travel, as well as other R&D activities as designated by the Director.
Experience and Education Requirements:
• BS in Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline is preferred.
• Master's Degree/MBA or PMP a plus
• Minimum 5+ years in R&D or related field
• Experience in VMHS industry a plus
• Flexibility in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines with quality results is mandatory
• Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively solve problems
• Solid math skills and able to analyze data for accuracy and correctly interpret results
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage large quantities of documentation

The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
