Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Manager, Pharmacy Support Services is responsible for financial analysis and inventory management of medications; responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant distribution of controlled substances; and oversight of and compliance of the 340B drug savings program at all Akron General entities.x000D
Provide supervision of the staff. Interviews, hires, and trains staff; evaluates performance and provides feedback; makes personnel action recommendations (e.g. promotions, transfers, disciplinary, discharge).
Serves as liaison for inventory, purchasing, and billing issues at all Akron General entities.
Responsible for managing local drug shortages within all entities of Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
Supervises the 340B Material Coordinator and is responsible for all operations and regulatory compliance of the 340B program.
Ensures effective inventory management and oversight over all Akron General entities.
Supervises the Narcotic Inventory Coordinators.
Participates in analyzing significant variances in the operating budget and provide explanations for such variances.
Assists with preparing the department's budget.
Prepares and reviews various management reports to make appropriate recommendations.
Performs the duties of a Staff Pharmacist when needed.
Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge.
Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.

Education:
Bachelors degree in pharmacy or Pharm.D. Completion of a PGY-2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency is preferred. Master's degree in Business Administration or Health-System Pharmacy Administration preferred.Certifications:
current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Ohio.
Board certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) is preferred.
Complexity of Work:
Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
Proficient use with PC software and report writing applications such as Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of pharmacy services within a health system and of computerized drug information databases.
Able to provide training in a clear and concise manner to department and hospital staff.
Work Experience:
Three (3) years experience as a health-system pharmacist or completion of an accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is required.
Previous experience in managing personnel preferred.
