About Manager of Cultured Products

  Description

  As the Manager of Cultured Products, you will oversee and support the operations of multiple dairy production facilities within Upstate Farms Cooperative. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective production of high-quality products while fostering a culture of employee mentorship and development across all facilities.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

  Operational Leadership:

  Oversee and support the day-to-day operations of the cultured manufacturing facilities.

  Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards across all facilities.

  Implement and refine operational procedures to optimize efficiency and meet production goals.

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and resolve operational challenges.

  Employee Mentorship and Development:

  Cultivate a culture of mentorship, learning, and professional growth among employees.

  Provide guidance and support to plant managers and staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.

  Support implementation training programs to improve technical competencies and leadership skills.

  Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for career development.

  Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance:

  Ensure strict adherence to quality control measures and regulatory standards.

  Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to uphold product excellence.

  Stay updated on industry best practices, regulations, and technological advancements.

  Continuous Improvement and Collaboration:

  Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced productivity.

  Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders.

  Knowledge and Skills Required

  Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, Business Administration, or related field.

  Proven experience (10 years) in dairy manufacturing operations, with a strong understanding of cultured dairy products.

  Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor diverse teams across multiple locations.

  In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, etc.) and quality assurance in dairy manufacturing.

  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.

  Confidentiality

  The Manager of Cultured Products is a key operational leader within Operations and serves as the main support and collaborator to the director of Director of Cultured Products. This position will have access to key performance and financial information specific to Upstate Niagara Dairy Cooperative and our customers. Confidentiality is critical and expected.

  Management Responsibility

  The Manager of Cultured Products will work closely with the Director of Cultured products to empower and mentor the current Plant Management Team.

  Work Environment

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts, high speed and processing equipment; is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals; is frequently exposed to moderate to high noise levels in the work environment. Must be able to see, grasp hold, walk, climb, bend, and stretch, lift to 40 lbs. Will spend significant time in the production environment where temperatures fluctuate, floors may be wet, and noise is a constant factor.

  Pay: $122,000 - $178,000
