Your role
CBC is looking for a Regional Manager, Brand and Community at CBC North. In this new role, you will lead audience growth, brand awareness and community outreach initiatives across Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Your work will be driven by CBC’s key priorities of reflecting contemporary Canada and engaging with a diverse range of communities across the country.
We are looking for someone with strength and experience in brand marketing, communications and community outreach. We need a creative and innovative manager to capture the attention of a diverse audience on a growing range of platforms and to support the communications needs of CBC North.
This role will report to the region’s Senior Managing Director and be a team player within both the CBC North leadership team and the Local Communications team nationally.
This role will:
Develop and execute high-quality targeted marketing communications services to promote and ensure awareness of the CBC brand, products and services to target audiences.
Ensure a consistent brand identity and messaging across all CBC marketing touchpoints in the region.
Manage new and existing partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders and community organizations to ensure strategic goals to build relevance are met.
Ensure that data-driven audience growth strategies are central to all audience-focused events held across the region, including remote broadcasts and outreach events.
Develop innovative digital and social media marketing plans.
Be a key member of the CBC North leadership team and use audience research to shape editorial and outreach projects against strategic priorities.
Identify emerging issues and develop effective communications strategies to support the Senior Managing Director and team, including drafting internal and external communications plans.
Qualifications
You are responsible for providing an updated resumé and highlighting the qualifications and skills required for this position.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing/Advertising or related discipline.
Minimum five (5) years of experience, including at least three (3) in personnel management, delivering marketing and communications services. Relevant experience must include traditional, digital and social media marketing; communications planning; brand management; strategic account management including brand management; issues management; publicity; public relations, event management and advertising.
Demonstrated skill in developing key relationships and partnership opportunities that directly support business goals.
Demonstrated connection to and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities, and of the North.
Demonstrated creativity, strategic thinking, planning, organizational ability and interpersonal skills, including a high level of professionalism and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Indigenous languages is an asset.
Knowledge of Canadian programming and media industry trends and a strong affinity for CBC TV, radio and digital programming.
Ability to multi-task and handle complex and concurrent issues and projects.
Ability to travel, as well as work irregular hours as needed, including evenings and weekends, is a requirement of this position.
This position is on-site. It may be based out of our Yellowknife, Whitehorse, or Iqaluit locations.
