In the role of Manager ClinicalResearch you will be working in Surgery. Purpose Manage all aspects ofthe transplant program clinical trial initiatives to ensure compliancewith state, federal and institutional regulations, policies andprocedures. Primary Functions * Act as a resource for investigators andsupport staff on pre-trial functions including budget development,contract negotiations and IRB applications. Advise transplant programstudy investigators and support staff on administrative and regulatoryaspects of human subject research. * Develop and implement programpolicies, procedures and organizational tools to ensure compliance withMCW, state and federal standards. * Manage data systems supportingresearch activities. Correspond with IRBs as needed. * Assist in thedevelopment and management of budget. * Recruit and train clinicalresearch staff nurses and clinical research coordinators; develop andimplement standardized expectations for all subordinates; assess,monitor and evaluate work load and performance. Mentor and direct staffto achieve research goals. * Act as a liaison between Division Chief,Division Administrator, and research staff. Work closely with otherdepartments and external agencies to advance the transplant program\'sresearch goals. * Develop, implement and monitor department research QIactivities. Implement and conduct quality control processes to ensurethe highest data and research standards. * Develop clinical review datareview plan and check specifications. Utilize quality improvement tools& statistical process control to facilitate improvement of systems &processes. * Perform as a study coordinator for select projects.Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Knowledge of biology, chemistry,mathematics, documentation, and records management.
