  Job Summary

  Responsible for assisting with local regulatory, franchising and public policy matters for assigned geographic area at the state, region, or division level. Implements legislative strategies, monitors legislation and coordinates state association management. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results, and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

  Core Responsibilities

  Legal, regulatory, and/or financial and auditing experience preferred.

  Acts as operations/business affairs lead for Region Government Affairs team.

  Manages the external affairs OPEX budget, serving as the primary point of contact for region's finance department and presenting department's annual budget.

  Assists in creation of local and regional strategic market plans and budgets.

  Manages administration of business partner agreements and works with outside consultants and/or lobbyists to meet stated objectives and obligations.

  Assists in preparation of renewal strategy and participates in franchise renewal negotiations with municipalities and/or their consultants.

  Manages ongoing compliance and assists in strategic advocacy related to market expansion efforts.

  Supports the government relations and public policy strategy as developed for the market.

  Identifies and assists in resolving right of way, permit, make ready, pole attachment and other important municipal issues of significance to the company.

  Drafts, analyzes and/or presents legislation, amendments and testimony as necessary.

  Oversees franchise-required construction installation of complimentary cable services to public buildings, including the negotiation of any additional terms and conditions with Local Franchise Authorizes (FLA).

  Reviews, interprets, supports and communicates meanings of the terms and conditions of franchises, franchise-related agreements and other contracts for implementation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

  Assists with emergency response and recovery activities, working before, during or after an emergency as needed.

  Oversees additional duties related to community affairs.

  Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

  Education

  Bachelor's Degree

  While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.

  Relevant Work Experience

  7-10 Years
