Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician at this facility will be following the plant maintenance program. Included are the repair, replacement, lubrication and inspection of parts or equipment in production and around the facility. Work is completed out in the plant site or at a bench in the maintenance shop. Weekend work and overtime may be a requirement. The position is for a rotating position on days, afternoons, and midnight shifts.

Compensation: Starting at $27.12 /hr with an increase after probation time up to $30.32 /hr
Principal Accountabilities:
Ensure safe, timely and satisfactory completion of all mechanical maintenance work
Maintain and improve the plants preventive/predictive maintenance system
Lead problem solving and analyze results of maintenance repairs to ensure plant objectives are met
Maintain a professional relationship by active collaboration with other departments in the plant
Working effectively and lead within a team environment
Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned
Required:
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Practical ‘hands on’ experience in a manufacturing/agricultural environment
Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 25KG, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
Basic knowledge of industrial and/or food safety and environmental regulations
Knowledge of the Maintenance Reliability process (predictive and preventative maintenance) and Predictive Technologies
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Ability to work in confined spaces
Ability to work under On-Call rotation
Basic computer skills
Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends, or different shifts with advance notice
Basic experience with maintenance trades
Preferred:
Agricultural experience
Experience with automation control, boiler and steam systems
Computer skills for data entry and data retrieval
Mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings and the mathematical knowledge required for such work
Forklift operator license
