Overview:
Provide technical leadership as well as hands-on expertise in the areas of equipment installation, start-up and maintenance at Laticrete facilities. Responsible for equipment troubleshooting and repair as well as the training and development of plant maintenance personnel. Leadership of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and standards.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Conduct all activities in order to insure a safe work environment that exceeds OSHA and environmental requirements and that are in compliance with corporate policies.
Oversees/maintains plant HS&E policies and programs in conjunction with the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor.
Ensures that machines/production equipment is installed and functioning to specifications.
Perform hands-on repairs/maintenance to insure the safe and proper operation of production equipment and facilities.
Coordinate outside vendor services in support of maintenance, upkeep, repair and upgrades of machinery, buildings and operations.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and metrics to drive improvement.
Writes operating instructions or programs and works to ensure that proper training is provided to workers to implement operating procedures, safety protocols, and to avoid system malfunctions.
Identify and execute ways in which to facilitate more cost effective repairs and maintenance.
Evaluate and recommend changes in procedures and/or equipment repairs/replacement.
Assure and maintain maintenance spare parts.
Insure that all operations and processes comply with ISO/QMS requirements.
Work closely with, and provide back-up for, other maintenance personnel.
Supervise assigned staff, equipment and raw materials of maintenance department team insuring maximum utilization, highest productivity and highest service levels.
Other duties as directed by Supervisor.
Job Specifications/Skills:
Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience as a maintenance technician with experience in the planning and control of maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment; process industry preferred.
Physical ability to lift and/or carry a minimum of 50lbs.
Must be able to work in hot and/or cold weather conditions in open warehouse area.
Must be able to climb stairs (including open mesh) with varying degrees of pitch.
Knowledge of all Federal, State, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Maintenance skills required include electrical instrumentation and controls, mechanical repair, welding, plumbing, pneumatics, along with knowledge of compressed air systems, HVAC and forklift truck operation and maintenance.
Strong analytical skills as well as strong hands-on repair and preventive maintenance experience.
A self starter able to work alone with limited supervision.
Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to interact with all levels of management.
Team cooperation - maintain positive, cooperative attitude with all employees of LATICRETE and all customers.
Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Microsoft Outlook. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel preferred.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Technical School Training, Associates Degree in Engineering or Industrial/Business Management, or equivalent experience.Travel:
