84 Lumber is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic who will play the crucial role of ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment at our Chalfont, PA 18914 location. Their primary responsibility is to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to prevent breakdowns and keep production running efficiently. Here's an overview of their role and responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial machinery and equipment. This includes identifying and fixing issues before they lead to breakdowns, ensuring optimal functionality, and extending the lifespan of the machinery.Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnosing mechanical problems in machinery, such as malfunctioning parts or equipment failures, and implementing solutions to rectify issues. This involves using tools, technical manuals, and diagnostic equipment to repair or replace defective parts.Following Safety Protocols:Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Industrial maintenance mechanics often work with heavy machinery and potentially hazardous materials, so safety precautions are paramount.Equipment Installation and Upgrades: Assisting in the installation of new machinery and equipment, as well as upgrades or modifications to existing systems. This may involve collaborating with engineers or other professionals to ensure proper installation and functionality.Adaptability and Flexibility: Being able to handle various types of machinery and equipment across different industries, adapting to new technologies, and being flexible in responding to unexpected maintenance issues.Skills and Qualifications:Possessing a combination of technical skills, including knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and the ability to read technical manuals and blueprints. Some industrial maintenance mechanics acquire these skills through vocational training, certification programs, or an associate degree in a related field.Pay: Starting pay is based on experience plus monthly and quarterly incentives as well as a 401(k) match and profit sharing.Schedule: Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 5:00 pmResponsibilities
Perform regularly scheduled maintenance of all equipment/machinery.Maintain equipment/machinery within tolerance of quality standards.Train operators on correct operating and maintenance procedures.Audit daily checks.Maintain safe work/machine environmentQualifications
