Vaccination paperwork will be requested during the completion of onboarding tasks prior the role's start date.SCOPE OF POSITIONThis position will be responsible for facility maintenance and repair for all of the property located on the main campus, Officer Quarters and other property owned by The Salvation Army in Spokane. This position will also be responsible for supervision, training and coordination of the Career Path and volunteer maintenance staff.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent level required; Degree preferredKnowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, vehicle & machinery repairMinimum of three years experience with maintenance, janitorial and repair dutiesPossess valid Washington State Driver's License and clear driver recordSuccessfully complete a Criminal Background checkGood communication and organizational skillsFollow through on assigned duties and excellent self motivationWork well with a minimum of direct supervisionPossess written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervise and train career path trainees and volunteers assigned to the maintenance departmentIn-house maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systemsSupply all cleaning, paper products and equipment for all related program staffAssist with local IT, security system and alarm testing, troubleshooting and repairsPerform minor repairs to elevator systems for all buildingsProvide troubleshooting and repair for all equipment as neededProvide input and guidance as Safety Committee member for all programs at the Spokane CorpsPerform special maintenance or repair to system(s) after consultation with the Facilities ManagerWork closely with existing staff to ensure that all repairs are completed in a satisfactory mannerAssist with ensuring all jobs are handled efficiently by the selected vendorsConduct yourself in a cordial manner with all staff and outside patronsDischarge your duties in a conscientious and responsible mannerMaintain written log of all maintenance, project, & repair requests with the completion dateAssist with maintaining accurate inventory of all maintenance equipmentArrange repair of maintenance equipment as neededMaintain a complete and up to date source of Material Safety & Data Sheets (MSDS) for all buildingsTurnover Transitional and Shelter Housing units for new occupants as neededRun maintenance or janitorial related purchasing errands as requestedFacilitate room set-ups as directedOrder janitorial supplies as directedJanitorial duties as assignedProvide on-going training and instruction for assigned volunteers and traineesPerform grounds maintenance, litter control, sweeping and snow removal during seasonal periodDrain air compressors in all Boiler rooms as neededCheck roofing vents/drainsReplacement of filters and inspection of HVAC equipmentClean Carpets as requestedLandscaping as scheduled or directedPeriodically Inspect per requirementsEmergency exits,Building & grounds lightingBuilding securityPlumbing equipment.Fire Alarm system.Lawn sprinkler systemVehiclesRoofingBoilers; Air Handlers
