  Position Summary

  The Maintenance Apprentice will develop their skills over the course of six years. At the end of the six-year program, trainees will be considered for full-time Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician positions.

  The trainee will provide maintenance support to the operations departments. This multi-craft position (electrical, mechanical, and electronic) will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electronic and electrical industrial equipment for a designated department within the plant. The ideal candidate must have a continuous improvement mindset while achieving the overall objectives with preventative maintenance and quick repair for trouble calls from operating technicians.

  The Bloomington OTR tire manufacturing facility within Bridgestone Americas Inc. produces construction and mining tires for worldwide operations. Located in Bloomington-Normal, IL

  Responsibilities

  Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineering Technician Trainee role include the following:

  Preventative Maintenance (continuous improvement)

  Perform Maintenance and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electronic, and Electrical Industrial equipment

  Perform Quick Repair for Trouble Calls from Operating Technicians

  Troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)

  Minimum Qualifications

  Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and meet the following minimum requirements:

  Be at least 18 years old (on the date the opportunity is posted);

  Receive a passing score on the entry test and/or interview assessment selected by the Company;

  Received high school diploma or equivalent; AND

  Basic understanding of hand tools and computer skills

  Assuming that an applicant meets the minimum qualifications listed above, in order to be further considered, the applicant must pass a entrance test taken on a computer.
