　　Description:

　　A licensed practical nurse carries out routine patient care assignments, administers medications, performs venipuncture, administers fluids and certain approved drugs intravenously; contributes to the initiation, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process under direct supervision of the registered nurse.

　　Education: Graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing

　　Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed to practice as a practical nurse in the state of Georgia. BLS certification required.

　　Experience: No experience required beyond that obtained in the nursing program.
