This position is responsible for reviewing and verifying that all required aspects of the loan process have been met prior to funding all types of mortgage and consumer loans. This position has the potential to be a hybrid position upon completion of training.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate and prepare documents for loan closing.Schedule, assist with, and/or conduct loan closing interviews with borrowers on all types of mortgage and consumer loans, including 1 - 4 unit dwellings, SPEC, land development, lot and automobile loans.Disburse funds at closing after receiving clearance on the required recorded/filed documents.Gather, prepare, process and/or assist with documentation required to close refinance mortgages and HELOCs.Review signed closing docs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Confirm funding conditions are met and communicate signing and funding dates with loan officers.Finalize loan files and move loan file to boarding.Maintain and follow up on trailing documents for loan files in pending status.Prepare and/or assist with Loans-to-One Borrower documentation.Verify and/or complete compliance reports and HMDA logs and entries match the loan origination system.Clear title on property securing loans, pay off current liens, pay taxes due and obtain documentation of the resulting cleared title. Work with escrow companies to ensure documents prepared are in compliance.Review and audit loan files for federal lending regulation compliance.Back up other lending staff as needed. Other duties as assigned.RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:Excellent public and customer relations skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, determine needs, and maintain confidence.Thorough understanding of banking regulations and Association policies and procedures with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations quickly and independently.Organizational skills and composure. Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize a fluctuating workload in a customer-driven environment.Utilize analytical techniques and exercise independent judgment to identify strategies to solve problems and complex customer needs.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate and explain complex banking, lending and legal regulations and documents.Proficiency in basic computer programs with ability to learn new software.Exercise customer confidentiality and discretionary judgment.Read, write, speak, and understand English well. Perform basic calculations.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma, GED or equivalent skills and training.Prior customer service experience.Prior loan experience preferred.Must be bondable.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:Duties are performed in usual office conditions.
