Leisure Sales Manager
SUMMARY
The Leisure Sales Manager role is responsible for establishing and executing direct sales efforts within the travel industry to solicit business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. This is an on -site position with the requirement of one-year minimum residency in Big Sky, Montana before consideration of a remote transition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The ability to negotiate and achieve maximum revenue/profit potential for the Resort while satisfying discerning client's needs.
Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed Leisure revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site visits and written communication.
Manage Consortia, GDS and RFP positioning through various platforms.
Develops and delivers training to ensure product knowledge updates for all contact points, including product managers, agency owners, independent contractors, and in-house Reservations agents
Travel to strategic trade shows, client events, entertainment with key accounts, prospective accounts and travel agencies.
Capable of planning and executing sales trips (local, domestic, international) including detailed follow through and trip reports.
Ability to clearly and effectively present the destination and Resort offerings in a passionate and personalized style of communication.
Work with all departments in preparation for VIP clientele arrivals and experience.
Prepare correspondence to leisure accounts & advisors in timely manner with sense of urgency.
Actively works with Director of Leisure Sales to maintain transient market partners and accounts.
Work to achieve annual budgetary goals with respect to occupancy and revenue in leisure segment. Achieve monthly and annual quotas.
Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them. Analyze business opportunities with a focus on shifting market share from competitive set hotels.
Handles complex transient business with significant revenue potential as well as significant customer expectations.
Serves the travel advisor community by understanding their client’s needs while building a relationship and loyalty to our brand.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new guests, agents and consortia to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
Provides excellent customer sales service with timely and highly personalized/customized quotes.
Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Building Successful Relationships with Montage/Pendry Leisure Team brand wide, and GSOs.
SECONDARY JOB FUCTIONS:
Develops and facilitates relationships within the Big Sky community.
Executes the brand’s Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards through the sales process.
Continually update travel advisor database with contact information.
Assist Director of Leisure Sales with development of sales strategies and planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
3 to 5 years of direct hotel sales experience within the luxury segment preferred
Previous relationships with luxury travel consortium including Virtuoso, Signature Travel Network, Internova SELECT, Ensemble and American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts programs.
Advance knowledge or existing relationships with FIT/Wholesale partners.
Strong customer service skills and displays a courteous, warm and professional manner at all times.
Must possess excellent communications skills and effectively interact with all levels of employees, guests and vendors.
Strong Public speaking and presentation skills to large or small audiences, in addition to webinars
Proven ability to travel and work independently, as well as a part of a team.
Well organized, outgoing, positive attitude, team-oriented and creative.
Ability to work under pressure; must be able to multi-task and possess excellent follow-up skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience with Opera PMS, Lanyon, Revintel and Agency360 is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, talking, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
