Description

An established litigation firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking a skilled Legal Secretary to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting attorneys in various civil litigation matters. As a Legal Secretary, you will play an essential role in the firm by providing administrative and legal support to our attorneys. You will be responsible for managing a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the efficient handling of legal cases.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.

Manage state and federal court filings, including e-filing.

Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and physical.

Schedule and coordinate meetings, hearings, and depositions.

Handle client communication and ensure timely responses to inquiries.

Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and documents.

Maintain attorney calendars and monitor deadlines.

Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing mail, and ordering supplies.

Handle additional projects and tasks as assigned by attorneys.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Secretary in civil litigation.

Proficiency with state and federal e-filing systems.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

Ability to work onsite in Oakland, CA, 5 days a week.

Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
