Job Summary
Hiring Range: $19.000 - $20.962 Hourly(commensurate with qualifications)

This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm, subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Performs administrative duties on behalf and in support of the Human Services Division of the Office of the County Attorney.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Copies and processes all legal documents prepared by paralegals, attorneys, and other office personnel.
Organizes and maintains vacated file system in coordination with Administrative Coordinator, paralegals, Chief Deputy County Attorney, and Records Center. Requests vacated files from the Records Center and locates missing files.
Copies requested documentation from Court files as needed.
Prepares, organizes, manages, and maintains legal files and memoranda.
Provides assistance and serves as backup to staff and attorneys to include copying, typing, case documentation, and preparing legal documents as needed.
Sorts and distributes documents received from the Court; Obtains certified copies from court files. Prepares case file folders as needed.
Performs daily court run and courier services to include delivery of processed documents to Clerk's Office and documents to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for process services. Acts as courier to different locations including the Human Services and Civil Divisions as needed.
Receives visitors to the office and takes messages. Manages outgoing mail.
Participates as a team player with other County Attorney Office staff in ensuring the objectives and daily operations of the County Attorney's Office are satisfactorily discharged.
Serves as back-up for Administrative Assistant for telephone, filing, and receptionist duties.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess strong organization skills, initiative, and attention to detail, as well as good grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and to exercise sound and professional judgment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with County staff, Elected Officials, co-workers, and the general public.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including fax machine, copier, telephone, and various computer databases. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent education.Preferred Education and Experience:
Two years of administrative or related experience.
Experience in a legal environment.
Licenses/Certificates:
Notary Public Commission preferred.Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must pass conditional post offer background investigation and drug screen.Work Conditions
Duties are performed in an office and/or remote environment. This is a part-time position regularly working up to 25 hours per week.
