  This opening is for a USA based employee, and must sit onsite in our offices in New York, NY, Seattle, WA, or Los Angeles, CA.

  As a Lead Software Engineer you will focus on building experiences for our core streaming products, pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the client. You’ll work with a team of other developers alongside systems engineers, service engineers, and project managers. Our team uses modern server-side and web technologies such as JavaScript, Node and React to deliver scalable and elegant solutions for new product features and core site architecture.

  Responsibilities:

  Architect and develop core site functionality using Javascript (ES6+) HTML and CSS

  Work on a modern stack including React, TypeScript, NodeJS, and Amazon Web Services

  Prototype new features and research applicable technologies

  Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability

  Review code and pull requests to ensure product and design specifications are met

  Work with product and project management to refine specs and timelines

  Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions

  Mentor and provide feedback to junior engineers

  Maintain and support production streaming applications at global scale.

  Basic Qualifications:

  Proven mastery of frontend web development technologies and principles

  Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, JS frameworks, and server-side templating

  Experience with task automation (Grunt, Gulp, WebPack) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass)

  Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies

  Strong communication skills and attention to detail

  Driven and self motivated

  Bonus Qualifications:

  Experience with streaming video, large data applications, and analytics suites

  Knowledge of SEO, accessibility, and web performance metrics

  Experience integrating with REST and/or GraphQL APIs

  The hiring range for this position is $149,300.00 to $200,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
