　　Overview

　　Rotate through clinics on a daily or weekly basis to provide clinic support to understaffed areas. Monitor daily clinic operations, within guidelines. Ensure provision of general office services and adequate staff coverage. Prioritize and monitor work of a group of student and/or casual employees and train, prioritize, assign, and review their work. May also train, assign, and review work of junior clerical support staff. Provide customer service to dental clinic patients, from greeting and routing patients to record maintenance and cashier duties. Assign patients to dental students. Maintain student and patient appointment books. Triage emergencies. Arrange for substitute patients as cancellations occur. Schedule follow-up examinations. Ensure maintenance and updating of files and records. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, making suggestions to improve policies and procedures. Handle inquiries requiring additional investigation.

　　Responsibilities

　　Required Education:

　　High School diploma or equivalent.

　　Required Experience:

　　3 years of office experience in a dental clinic or related healthcare facility.

　　Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

　　Excellent customer service skills. Ability to prioritize own work and work of junior support staff in a fast-paced environment. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Moderate, accurate keyboarding.

　　Qualifications

　　In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $34.629. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
