This individual is responsible forassisting the manager/supervisor with daily operations, which includestaff assignments and acting as a resource for the patients, providersand support staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor. The Lead MAcan also be responsible for assisting with new employee on-boarding andorientation as well as ongoing training for all medical assistants. Thisindividual will act as a liaison to the manager/supervisor regardingissues resolution. The Lead MA will also be expected to perform alltasks as a Medical Assistant as well as any other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience isrequired. A minimum of 2 years of experience in designated specialtyand/or other ambulatory setting preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Highschool diploma or equivalent required. In addition, individuals mustmeet one (1) of the following combinations of education and experience:A.) A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program(Associate, Diploma or Certificate). B.) A graduate of a non CAAHEP orABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) orMilitary Medic/Corpsman training. In addition to education, three (3)years of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience required. C.)Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of thefollowing credentials: a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) b.)Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) c.) Assessment Based Recognition inOrder Entry (ABR-OE). Incumbents hired through an acquisition may begrandfathered as long as they completed medical assistant training andmeet our competency requirements.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.Certification through the AAMA and/or an equal certification board orcertification is preferred.
