Job Description
Leads and guides EEG Technicians in the performance of duties. Performs all functions of an
EEG Technician.
Job Responsibility
*Leads and guides EEG Technicians in the performance of duties
Handles and/or acts as resource for difficult or complex EEG recordings.
Participates in orientation and ongoing training of EEG staff.
Assists management in staff scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work
based on workflow fluctuations.
*Performs all functions of an EEG Technician.
Interviews patient to assess current physical condition
Abstracts relevant information for patient's medical record, obtaining
additional information from patient and/or referring Physician, as required.
Translates procedures into layman's terms based on professional
knowledge in order to relieve patient of any pre-testing anxiety.
Sets up equipment to administer particular procedure in a timely fashion.
Positions patient on examination table and applies electrodes on
predetermined measured positions on patient's head for optimum testing.
Checks equipment performance and selects predetermined electrode
combinations and special combinations as required by case.
Operates EEG equipment to take electroencephalographic tracings.
Obtains standard recordings, recognizing artifacts and taking appropriate
steps to eliminate them.
Modifies recording protocol when abnormalities occur in EEG, adding
electrodes in standard locations and devising appropriate recording
techniques with minimal assistance.
Uses activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation
and sleep.
Monitors other variables such as electromyograms, electrocardiograms,
electrooculograms, respiration, etc.
Recognizes and responds to patient's medical issues and physiological
events to ensure safety and welfare of patient.
Obtains recordings, including any/all abnormal clinical manifestations, for
physician interpretation.
May assist Physician in surgical cases by setting up continuous EEG
monitoring, video monitoring and in obtaining recordings during ECOG
and Wada mapping.
Transports EEG equipment to patient's rooms and various departments.
Performs routine maintenance on EEG equipment. Identifies malfunctions
and reports to management.
Creates and maintains EEG and Video-EEG records.

Job Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Graduate from an accredited or formal certificate EEG program, required.
Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) by ABRET, required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification, required.
Minimum of two (2) years clinical EEG Technologist experience, required.
Demonstrated knowledge in all aspects of EEG procedures & equipment, required
Ability to communicate effectively.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
The salary range for this position is $36.04-$37.74/hour
