Our Client, an industry leader in designing, manufacturing and integrating some of the most advanced products and technologies for the aerospace industry - is in search of an experienced Lead Engineer that has excellent leadership, communication and technical skills. The Lead Engineer - Aerospace Systems Development will be responsible for the support, design and implementation of new and existing designs of fluid power and motion control system components. Key qualifications include 5+ years of Mechanical and Project Engineering including design experience utilizing 3D CAD software in an aerospace environment; and 3+ years of experience implementing hydraulic product design and testing in a plant environment. Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering is required.

responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities: Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development and improvements.Decision-making authority in Mechanical Engineering for system and component design.Guide and direct Integrated Product Team (IPT) technical decisions and objectives.
Product Design and Lifecycle: Collaborate with IPTs to design, analyze, and implement product designs throughout the lifecycle.Lead efforts to solve problems in product design, inspection, manufacturing, and testing.
Project Management: Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple simultaneous projects. Establish and oversee accomplishment of project objectives.Create, update, and interpret project schedules, communicate changes to Engineering Leadership and IPT(s).
Program Management and Liaison: Resolve program change of scope issues with Project Engineering and Program Management. Serve as the primary technical contact for cross-functional teams. Interact directly with internal and external customers through formal technical presentations and informal discussions.
Documentation and Standards: Create design standards, technical documents, including Engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.34 standards).Present product design, substantiating data, analysis, findings, and recommendations to customers and management.
Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to co-workers.Provide direction to other engineers on project teams.
Standardization and Continuous Improvement: Ensure standardization of product design and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects. Support continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures.
Collaboration and Goal Achievement: Proactively collaborate with peers and managers to determine key goals, objectives, and metrics. Review and amend actions as appropriate, focusing on the timely achievement of goals and objectives.
Interpretation and Documentation Coordination:Interpret engineering documents. Coordinate creation and update of engineering documents.
Studies and Investigations: Participate and lead studies for cost reduction and first-time yield. Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations. Provide engineering input and technical expertise for failure investigation and customer-returned hardware.
