rrPosition Summary:
rThe Lead Academic Advisor provides support and education to elevatestudents\' learning experience at the University of Idaho. Similar toacademic advisors, the Lead Academic Advisor fosters student success bybuilding positive and professional student relationships and byimplementing proactive strategies that help students fulfill theireducational goals. The Lead Academic Advisor will also have contentexpertise in one or more college(s)/program(s) and will help studentsselect courses and engage in opportunities consistent with theirdeveloping goals and interests. This position will also supportstudents\' timely progress toward degree completion. Additional dutiesinclude, but are not limited to, providing information and clarificationregarding university academic policies, creating rapport, and buildingacademic advising relationships, and referring students to appropriatecampus resources. The Lead Advisor will also serve a critical role inmanaging the day-to-day operations of an academic advising team ineither the STEM colleges, Liberal Arts colleges, or the College ofLetters, Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS). The Lead Advisor will beresponsible for evaluating advisors in their assigned colleges and willwork closely with the Director of University Advising Services to ensureadvisors continue to meet Council for the Advancement of Standards inHigher Education (CAS), and Vandal Success and University policies,procedures, and expectations.
This position is expected to work collaboratively with universitypartners to ensure students have access to all campus support andenrichment opportunities.

Bachelors Degree{=html}<>- Two years experience serving as an academic advisor at a higher education institution- Experience advising students or leading other advisors in using different styles of advising models- Experience delivering student-centered customer service- Experience presenting information clearly and concisely to individuals, small, and large groups- Experience compiling, analyzing, and using information for leadership/administrative decisions- Experience interpreting and applying standards and regulations
