Position Overview
Kiewit’s Legal Department is searching for a talented candidate to join its team as a Law Clerk, as part of a summer internship. As a Law Clerk reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, you will serve as a valued member of Kiewit's legal team, providing ongoing support for a wide array of external and internal legal matters that will help Kiewit deliver strong business results. Location
This position is based out of our Kiewit Corporate Headquarters office, in downtown Omaha. This is a corporate office in a professional office setting.
Responsibilities
Performs legal research utilizing both written and electronic sources
Assists attorneys in brief and opinion writing; prepares memoranda
Gathers and compiles facts and relevant information
Assists attorneys in preparing for meetings, training sessions, and other matters
Other legal-related matters, as assigned
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in law school
At least 1 (preferably 2) years of law school complete prior to start date of internship or considerable related professional experience
Strong legal research and writing skills, including verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
Working knowledge of computers and experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and willingness to learn
Ability to apply discretion and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work 30-40 hours a week over the summer
Willingness and flexibility to travel, as needed
Knowledge of construction and/or engineering industries preferred
Other Requirements:

• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
