About Language Manager, Indonesian

  Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The Meta family of apps is currently available in 100+ languages and we are adding many more. ~90% of people already use our products from outside of North America and we continue to expand internationally.As Language Manager for the Indonesian speaking market, you will be involved in ensuring that we deliver a great user experience to our international audience through high quality translations. As we work closely with team members in remote offices and regional stakeholders, it is very important that the candidate be comfortable working with remote teams across different time zones.

  Language Manager, Indonesian Responsibilities:

  Reviewing, editing and/or translating high visibility UI content and high priority long form content of Meta family of apps and other core experiences in English-to-IndonesianPerforming localization screenshot testing to identify linguistic and functional issuesWorking closely with product teams and performing hands-on linguistic testing on web and mobile devicesCollaborating with the Localization Program Management team to support product launches and drive the efforts to ensure end to end linguistic quality during the product launch cyclesDriving product and/or vertical-specific language quality initiativesCollaborating with the Vendor Management team to select new translation vendors, drive vendor-probation, and support their ramp-upClosely monitoring vendor translation quality through our quality framework and managing translation vendors' performance when neededDriving or supporting cross-functional and/or team level quality framework at scaleBuilding and scaling stakeholder education programs for internal cross-functional partners and external vendors to ensure language quality from end to endMaintaining the localization glossaries, style guides, and TMs (Translation Memory) for owned contentkeeping them up-to-date and audience appropriateWorking closely with the in-country stakeholders to deliver market appropriate translationPerforming other linguistic tasks as neededTraveling domestically or internationally to other Meta offices and/or business sites as neededMinimum Qualifications:

  Indonesian language is required to communicate efficiently with our translation vendor teams, cross-functional teams, and occasionally, with our end-users in Indonesia.3+ years of experience in English-to-Indonesian translation, product UI localization, linguistic reviews and translation quality management is required for monitoring the Indonesian translation quality for all our products, and making appropriate decisions for necessary changes to improve it.Experience in creating and/or maintaining linguistic assets for Indonesian translation (e.g. terminology, style guides etc.) is required for being able to guide our translation vendor teams and reviewers in ensuring consistency, accuracy and appropriateness of Indonesian translation on the Meta family of apps.Knowledge of Indonesian culture, society and current trends is required to ensure that the tone and style of our Indonesian translation is appropriate for millions of our end-users who are in Indonesia.Knowledge of linguistic and cultural diversity of Indonesia is required to ensure that our Indonesian translation is inclusive of and appropriate for all our end-users in every region of Indonesia.Familiarity with CAT tools is required in order to perform the day-to-day work of translation and linguistic reviews.Experience in localization of online and mobile products from English to Indonesian is required to understand & detect the language-specific issues in product localization, and fix them by applying the right solutions.Cross-functional experience working with engineers, product teams, regional stakeholders or clients is required to work effectively with cross-functional teams within Meta, and to help them detect and resolve language-specific issues in Indonesian.Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience in localization of gaming contentExperience in localization program and/or project managementExperience in digital marketingExperience in hardware localization and testingExperience in AR, VR, smart home devices, or related technologiesAbout Meta:
