  Overview

  Through analysis, planning, and design, we create inspired landscapes that reflect context and user needs. Whether an urban park, a restored wetland, a town center, an athletic complex, a waterfront destination, or transportation facility enhancement, we make valuable contributions to the quality of life in our communities. We create opportunities from complex physical constraints and help our clients achieve their unique project goals for the design, organization, and use of space. From concept development through construction drawings and implementation, we’re the source and facilitator of creative ideas that are economically viable and environmentally responsible.   Your Opportunity

  This is a resume and skill-building experience. Your work will include project research, site visits and observation reports, sketching, CAD and computer graphics production, design reviews, and marketing proposal assistance – all under guidance of our inter-disciplinary team.

  Qualifications

  Your Capabilities and Credentials

  Excellent design, graphic, computer, writing, and technical skills.

  Self-motivated and passionate about design.

  Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

  The ability to work with others, as well as independently.

  Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Rhino, Sketch-up, and Adobe programs is essential.

  Education and Experience

  Applicants should be a current student or recent graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a Landscape Architecture program.Please include the following additional required application materials:

  Resume

  A cover letter in PDF format indicating your background, interests, and goals in the field of landscape architecture. Please describe a unique project or life challenge that you encountered and how you addressed and responded to the challenge. Include any other relevant information you believe will help us make an informed decision regarding your selection to the internship program.

  One (1) letter of recommendation in PDF format from an individual related to the field of landscape architecture and design

  Design Portfolio in PDF format (5 MB max.)

  Application packages will be reviewed for creativity, critical thinking, and design communication skills. Application deadline: Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST)

  Stantec offers a collaborative studio work environment. Our landscape architects engage staff across multiple disciplines and are presented with project opportunities at various scales and at the local, regional, national, and international level.

  To receive the best mentorship experience in the Summer of 2024, we anticipate that this position will predominantly require work in the office while remaining compliant with current public health guidelines. Work from home arrangements may be considered, though in-office presence will be a priority.

  Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

  Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

  The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
