  Kelly Science & Clinical has a new temporary to hire opportunity for a Laboratory Specialist in Auburn Hills, MI!

  12 month Temp to Hire Opportunity

  Pay: $25-$30/hour DOE

  Shift: 7am-3:45pm

  Day to Day Responsibilities:

  Maintaining a safe work environment, complying with safety policies and procedures, filing MSDS's, following safe work practices for personal, equipment, and team member safety -- in both the laboratory and in the machine hall. End results are a zero safety incidents and a clean, orderly, working environment.

  After completing the prerequisite training, conducting laboratory and machine hall studies with a limited amount of supervision.

  The incumbent should be capable of adjusting formulations and have mastered a number of technical procedures.

  The incumbent is expected to proactively suggest improvements in equipment design and/or experimental procedures.

  End results are accurate studies with low levels of variability, that are done correctly the first time, and completed on time.

  Keeping an accurate and legible lab notebook and reporting collated results.

  End results are compliance with our laboratory notebook guidelines, efficient laboratory operations, and protection of our intellectual property.

  Equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and clean-up. The equipment must be operated safely and in accordance with written guidelines. Incumbents may be assigned ownership responsibility for certain pieces of equipment.

  End results are equipment which remains in good operating condition, experiences minimal failure, receives regular preventive maintenance, has parts on hand for emergency repairs, and is consistently kept clean.

  Laboratory and Machine Hall Stewardship. Activities include taking ownership for coordinating the laboratory Chemical Inventory.

  End results include: adequate stocks of necessary laboratory supplies, a neat and orderly working environment, effective interactions with Site Services and Testing Services personnel, safe disposal of chemicals and other laboratory waste, etc.

  Qualifications:

  Associates Degree, two years of college or equivalent in a technical discipline, and preferably one year of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience includes chemistry, engineering, mechanics or a similarly appropriate industrial field

  OR High School education with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

  Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.

  Intermediate computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database software)

  Effective verbal and written communication skills

  High levels of energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, self-control

  Creative problem solving ability

  Initiative, self direction, and enthusiasm for the job.

  Ability to handle multiple projects effectively and to stay focused.
