Position Summary: The Lab Assistant in Lab Outreach will provide a wide range of mobile phlebotomy laboratory services including specimen collection via mobile phlebotomy, ordering, phlebotomy dispatch, specimen processing, centrifuging, and collecting and receiving specimens in our EHR (electronic health record). Will deliver specimens to the appropriate lab department while ensuring proper efficiency and workflow management. Will also serve as a resource for questions from internal and external customers regarding specimen handling and processing. Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. One year phlebotomy experience preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: Strong customer services skills, ability to work independently and problem solve in the field of work demonstrating sound critical thinking skills. Demonstrate strong organization skills with the ability to meet time sensitive customer service requests and changes on short notice. Work with large senior population in skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care facilities. Specimen processing including centrifuge operation. Safely and legally operate Park Nicollet vehicles, must have a valid driver's license. May be required to drive personal car on an occasional basis. ASCP Certification for phlebotomy preferred.
