  The ACT is responsible for providing exceptional animal care to the researchanimals at Inotiv. This includes performing daily husbandry and care oflaboratory animals in a research environment as well as sanitization andpreparation of animal housing equipment, including operation of a large bulkrack washer. The ACT I may be responsible for performing animal technicalprocedures and providing animal study support with supervision. The ACT I willwork as part of a team conducting routine procedures required for vivariumoperation.

  Responsibilities

  Provide food, water, and clean housing to rodents according to SOPsPerform daily health observations with demonstrated ability to recognize andreport abnormalities and common signs of illnessHandle and restrain rodentsLearning opportunities to assist research technicians with various labprocedures, but not requiredMaintain accurate records (e.g. documentation of various facility procedures& metrics)Perform routine facility sanitation procedures; maintain a clean,clutter-free facilityPrepare and stock room suppliesMonitor and record facility environmental parametersMay perform euthanasia procedures as directedOperate husbandry-related equipment (e.g. cage washers, autoclaves, airflow hoods, etc.) using approved proceduresWash and prepare caging and equipment.Maintain work area in an organized, clean, and safe conditionOther duties as assigned

  Qualifications

  Minimum of High School Diploma required.College courses and/or associates or bachelor's degree in animal scienceor Husbandry are highly desirable0-3 years of work experienceIndividuals must demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to workefficiently in individual and team settingsAble to lift 50 lbs repetitivelyAble to work overtime, as needed*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualifywith a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years ofexperience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role tomatch the person's relevant experience and/or education level.

This is an hourly position with a pay range of $20-24/hrdepending upon skills and qualifications.
