The Integrated Genetics division (part of LabCorp's Specialty Testing Group) has an exciting opportunity for a Cytogenetics Lab Technician in Santa Fe, NM. We are a fast paced diagnostic testing facility performing chromosome analysis on various tissue types. This position will include various wet lab procedures, troubleshooting, quality control, and microscope analysis. Open to hiring entry level candidates - no previous experience required!

　　As a Cytogenetics Technician, you will be able participate in LabCorp's in-house training program for the field of Cytogenetics and to become a certified Cytogenetics Technologist. Receive in depth training and preparation for the ASCP board examination and certification (ASCP-CG). Training program is a two year commitment.

　　The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday to start. Hours are variable based on business need. Start time can be as early as 6am, and the end time can be as late as 8pm. Ability to work weekends and overtime is required.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Process specimens using various aseptic tissue culturing techniquesHarvest live cultures resulting in slide preparationsChromosome analysis using microscopy and our computer imaging systemPreventative maintenance on laboratory equipmentReagent preparationMaintain documentation according to established procedures in designated technical departmentPerform general lab support duties

　　Requirements:

　　B.A./B.S. in Biology, Chemistry or relatable life science fieldPrevious clinical or research lab experience preferred but not requiredAbility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtimeAttention to detail and ability to follow established protocolsAbility to multi-task is a mustEagerness to learn and self-motivatedAbility to work in a team and in a collaborative environment
