Fluidra ’s looking for a Watercare Lab Engineer III to join our team at our East Coast o ffice in Atlanta, GA (by airport).
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
While working and participating in a team environment, the Lab Engineer is primarily responsible for serving as the lead engineer for testing on a specific product category. They will work with the Engineering Services Manager and Watercare Engineering team to determine prioritization. They will lead tasks related to the development testing of water chlorination systems, pH sensors, chemical automation devices, dosing systems, and secondary sanitizers utilizing UV, Ozone, and AOP. They will also be tasked with analyzing data generated from tests and attending project meetings to advise of implications arising from the results. Organization culture demands employees to be result driven. This position reports to the Engineering Services Manager. Additionally, you will:
Set up and conduct various tests as specified by the Project Engineers 30%
Provide direction to Lab Technician by assigning daily tasks, establishing priorities, and providing direction to ensure task completion. 20%
Participate in project meetings to provide test updates and share results. 15%
Generate and analyze test reports- 15%
Develop and write engineering test plans for product qualification. 10%
Build and/or modify test rigs and product prototypes. 10%
WHAT WE SEEK
2 + years in a hands-on engineering role. Examples include lab engineer, chemical engineer, manufacturing engineer, test engineer, or quality engineer.
Strong shop-math skills, required to perform the necessary calculations to perform engineering tests and conduct mechanical inspection of various components (sheet metal, plastic, electrical, chemical dilution, concentration conversions…. etc.)
Comfortable with basic machine shop tools.
Must be comfortable performing hands-on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Innovative, customer service and team oriented.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, preferably chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This employee will be required to regularly read, write, talk, and hear, to perform basic job responsibilities. They will also be required to perform a variety of physical tasks involving walking, kneeling, squatting, and carrying objects up to 50lbs without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
