Responsible for leading the daily activities of Pavement Asset evaluation team in the Maintenance Division. Work includes leading programs, resource management, stakeholder and sponsor communications, reporting, and statewide engagement. Oversees pavement data measurement equipment improvement to meet project and network level pavement evaluation needs. Oversees the development and coordination of training related to pavement distress data collection and equipment usage. Responsible for oversight of the pavement distress data collection verification program. Recognized as an expert in pavement measurement equipment systems or accelerated pavement testing systems. Serves as a Lead Worker. Reports to the Pavement Asset Preservation Branch Manager. Work requires extensive contact and interaction with district and division staff. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:Serves as a lead worker to TxDOT employees by serving as a resource for complex questions and providing technical training; providing input on employees' career conversations; approving employees' leave requests to ensure operations coverage; and presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager.Manages and coordinates integrated pavement data collection program activities and schedules.Oversees the development of training related to pavement data measurement equipment usage.Coordinates and oversees pavement equipment shop operations and logistics.Coordinates and prioritizes equipment use and pavement data collection requestsDevelops or oversees the development of business case to design and implement new pavement data measurement systems and configuration of hardware and software. Serves as technical resource, project leader, or panel member on pavement-related special or research projects and provides training to other as required.Develops equipment operation manuals and develops equipment/ system specifications.Conducts and oversees pavement data audits to ensure accuracy of data; monitors quality assurance related to editing and storage of collected data.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
