JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective: Employee performs skilled electrical work in theinstallation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems andequipment. Responsibilities also include making estimates of material andcosts for new installations, ensuring that the NEC requirements of alllocal, state and national codes are met. Coordinates with other relatedtrades. Assignments are received orally or in writing and may be accompaniedby pencil sketches or blueprints. Work is performed without supervision butmay be inspected on completion.
Essential Functions:Performs work according to printed information on the Facilities Departmentwork order systemAccomplishes duties of mechanical maintenance and repair without directsupervision on a daily basisInstalls and maintains electric wiring, motor wiring and lighting systems,fire alarms, scoreboards, intercommunication equipment, heating andventilation circuitry and equipmentMaintains primary electrical distribution systems, circuit breakers, andtransformersMaintains and repairs motors, pumps, clocks, shop and kitchenequipment, and other electrical equipmentOperates complex test equipmentDirects the activities of other techniciansDesigns control circuitry and panels as neededOperates heavy equipment as needed
